This modest yet impactful rear extension breathes new life into a compact family home in Beckenham. The project extends the ground floor to create an open-plan kitchen and dining area, perfectly tailored for modern living.
The rear extension is wrapped in dark-stained timber cladding, offering an elegant contrast to the white façade of the existing house. Above, a green roof integrates the structure into its natural surroundings, enhancing its connection to the garden.
Inside, the design prioritizes function and flow. Bi-fold doors seamlessly open to the garden, blurring the boundary between indoors and outdoors while flooding the interior with natural light.
Despite its small footprint, the rear extension achieves a sense of spaciousness and connectivity, making the most of every square meter. This low-budget intervention to the Beckenham house is a testament to how thoughtful design can transform a home, delivering both practicality and style without compromise.
